About Dr. Brian FlournoyBlackberry 167

Dr. Brian Flournoy is someone who is happiest when he’s in motion and challenging himself. “For me, running and staying fit is more of a psychological reward than a physical reward. It helps keep me positive, releases anxiety, elevates my mood and makes life so much more exciting,” he says. “In addition, it’s a great way to get away from the distractions of the world and achieve peace of mind.”

Running, cycling, swimming and competing in events from Tulsa Tough to The Tulsa Run and Ironman triathlons has allowed Brian to view motion and the injuries sustained in repetitive kinds of activity from an insider’s perspective.

Dr. Flournoy hurt his shoulder lifting weights in college and suffered for over three years until he finally found a doctor who could resolve the problem, not just the symptoms. Since he eliminated his own pain through a combination of chiropractic adjustments and Active Release treatments, he’s been devoted to resolving other athletes’ joint issues and with similar methods; involving many parts of the body that are inevitably involved in an injury.

Upon receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic degree with Clinical Proficiency honors from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1994, he began general practice in Tulsa county. He became full body certified in Active Release Technique (ART) in 1997 and was honored to receive the designation of an ART Elite Provider in 2007, which demands academic and clinical excellence. He believes in constantly challenging himself to expand his understanding of techniques and physical conditioning.

He has a highly academic background and has always looked for opportunities to get practical hands-on experience. He has been fortunate to have worked with the top physicians and rehabilitation specialists in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

“There is no better feeling than being able to put my education, training, and caring in to practice on a daily basis.”
